I have a brand new Xtreme V 8' 6" that i have been using for a few storms. The plow will do everything except lift. I have to run into a pile and mess around with it to actually lift. Controller works, no leaking, wings work, down works, just not lifting.

If it is new, go right back for warrenty. When trying to lift, does the motor run?

Thats my plan, but they cant work on it until Thursday and I need it to be working for Wednesday-Thursday. The motor is running when I try to lift. The lift arm goes up trying to lift then gives up.

Did the problem just start out of the blue or was it after some sort of impact?

As Randall said, you should really have the dealer look at it first, lest you screw something up and void the warranty

I was just scraping to clean up and was running the spreader, I don't know if trying to raise the plow while salting screwed something electrically. I am having someone look at it tonight to see if there is something obvious I am missing but I will be bringing it to the dealer regardless. Biggest issue is needing it Wednesday night.

If it raises till it stretches the chain taut, then stops, it sounds like the pressure relief valve needs to be adjusted. It would be unusual to have been working fine then just fall out of adjustment for no reason, but not impossible. Anything you did with the spreader is almost certainly unrelated.

I do think I did, but would hitting a pile too hard do that? I did that earlier in the day, but nothing unusual when it stopped lifting.

It's full of fluid, no leaks, no pinched hose?

Im taking it to the garage tonight to check the fluid levels, i just cant right now. But I'll let you know if thats the diagnosis. no pinched hoses, no leaks.

If it is new my bet is piece of crap stuck in pump relief. DD has been slacking on cleaning these pumps after machining.

Wasn't there another guy that just had a similar issue last week and there were metal shavings in the valves?

Finally took a look, seems like a bad sellinoid. Anyone have any idea on a part number for a new Xtreme V 8’6” sellinoid responsible for the lift function?

How did you determine it was bad if you don't know where it is?

I can’t think of another explanation And I’ve had a few private mechanics look at it
