I just picked up my original Western Wide-out emergency parts kit and since so many people ask what to carry I thought I would show you what I got.

Here is what they list as contents:
Parts bag (with nice Western Logo)
    Winter hat with logo (tuke)
Western zipper pull (key chain thingy)
    1 quart plow fluid
    1 tube dielectric grease
    1 motor relay
    1 67" hose
    1 78" hose
    1 38" hose
    1 32" hose
    1 16" hose 1/4 (lift ram)
    1 trip spring
    1 5/8" X 2 clevis
    1 5/8" X 3 1/2" clevis
    1 5/8" eye-bolt kit (used with spring)
1 5/8" wing stop bolt kit
    1 1 X 4" clevis
    1 1 X 3-5/16" clevis
1 3/8" u bolt with 2 nylock nuts (for lift chains to a frame)
1 90 degree short #6 ORB to JIC elbo
1 90 degree long #6 ORB to JIC elbo
1 45 degree #6 ORB to JIC elbo
    1 5/32" hair pin clip
    1 "Snow Happens" sticker

I added my LED headlight but that does not come in the kit from Western, $49 from Canadian tire.

I plan to add a nighthawk bulb too and of course a few tools so I can actually do some repairs now that I have the parts. Something else I am working on is a simple ready rod emergency blade lifter. It's just a threaded rod with hooks and a crank handle for lifting the blade when the hydraulics fail. I know you can just push the blade up with a snow pile but sometimes when you don't have a snow pile you need such a thing. This works so much better than fighting with a bottle jack and actually holds the blade up so you don't hit bottom going over bumps. I will post a photo when I finish it.

The part number I come up with is 92100 Follow this link and it will show you the contents list at Western...
They don't seem to have the kit specific to Wide-out any more?? I see mine had all 5 replacement hoses while this only has one hose.
Hold on, Here it is.... #50687 Follow this link...
This one is listed special for the Wide-out and has all five hoses.

Instead of the treaded rod, just use a ratchet strap from the light tower to the blade. I think it would be less complicated and easier to lift the blade. Just cut the strap down to size so you don't use it for something else, and not have it for if and when you might ever need it.
