Ok i tried doing a search and couldnt find any threads that acutally said the difference between them. I am ordering new edges and wanted to know what the difference is. And if the added cost of the carbides justifies them.

carbide is a much tougher metal I have cut through 1/4" mild steel with a 7 1/4" carbide skill saw blade. Just don't push!!!!

$250 more for the carbides than just stock ones.

We have some carbide edges and we had trouble with them biting the pavement too much and constantly tripping the edge. B@B informed me I that other carbides don't do this but we just run all carbon steel edges now.
