I took an 08 Boss V XT Plow in on trade from a guy and I want to know if I can put it on a 2003 Chevy 1500HD or not ? Or maybe an 07 Suburban 2500 ? Or should I look for a heavier truck?

It will handle it, just don't go crazy and you should be fine.

a half ton with a 8.2 vxt is not going to like that at all.

It's the same truck as the 2500 GM's before the HD came out. It's the drivetrain of a light duty 2500: 6.0 Gas, 4L80e trans, 9.25" front diff, 9.5" semi floating rear axle, 8 lug wheels, heavier frame but not the same one as the HD's have. And it's only available as a crew cab short bed.

Its not a half ton, just a 2500 non HD with a different badge that implies its a half ton
