Western pump housing repair question ?

This is not my doing, the cable set screw hole was drilled and taped out very poorly and is striped out.
Besides buying a new pump or housing what is my best option to repair the hole ?

    Heli coil ?

Drill and tap a new hole on each side for the correct set screw?

Fill with JB weld and drill and tap for the set screw ?

Any thoughts or Suggestions would be great .

    Thanks Mike

you could try jb weld. or you could drill another hole on the left side of the lug and tap it.

drill and tap another hole. i had to do it on my cable pump that i bought used with the original hole stripped.

that looks like a 1/4-20 bolt or so, which is larger then it should be, so it looks like the orignal was already stripped, then a bigger bolt was put in - and now thats stripped too....
