How much weight would you put in the back for balance weight. I have a 2002 2500HD Duramax with a brand new Western MVP poly. With my last plow I didn’t use any weight and this one feels a bit heavier.

Without knowing what the manufacturer recomends, I'd say start with 400#. One way to tell if you have enough or too much is to first measure from the floor/ground to the top of the front wheelwell without the plow mounted. Put the ballast in the bed, mount the plow and lift it off the ground. Measure again. Add or subtract weight until the measurements are the same or close.

You could do the same by measuring to the bumper. I just prefer the wheelwell.
