Having leakage in a cylinder. Found the issue. My question is, will valve lapping repair this damage enough to seal? Damage is in a strange place- outer seat. I am trying to avoid the cost of taking to a machine shop when this is the only cylinder that needs repaired.

The truck has a lot of miles and I just need to improve cylinder pressure in that cylinder. Cylinder has a misfire and idle is slightly rough.

All other cylinders are fine.

No lapping will not fix that, cant really tell, but looks to me like head is damaged not just seat

need way better pictures, and a couple with the valve in the open position would be swell.

water drips from that area when added behind the valve.

I may just go to pull a part and yank a used head.

What you working on? Need clear pictures. Lapping the valves probably will not repair that.

had compression issue on a cylinder and suspected valve, so I removed head.
