value of a 2003 f350 dump?

    I check kbb.com... came up $15,575.... the seller states hes done the kbb also and comes up with 19800..... v-10, auto, dual wheels, dump body, auto, xl package, 20K miles ...... thoughts? Its what I want but don't want to pay too much.....

    Vehicles are only worth as much as a buyer is willing to pay. Chances are, you're looking at kbb private party value, and he's looking at retail value in excellent condition. Retail though is only a dealer's starting point, and dealer prices are generally going to be higher than a private party because many dealers go through vehicles pretty thoroughly to "recondition" them before selling, and they have a lot more overhead to cover. If he thinks he's getting retail on a 7 year old truck, he's dreaming.

    I'm coming up with $16,200 for private party in excellent condition. Hard to say though whether that's a fair price without seeing the truck, but my gut says he's a little high.

    Sounds like a nice truck though with only 20k on it. Good luck!
