Hello, I have a coil on the s1 valve that is staying energized. I do the screwdriver test and it is energized constantly. The controller is not being touched at all.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

so the plow has been functioning properly and this is a new issue? or is this a plow you just got and it has never worked right?

so the coil is being energized becuase the wire that feeds it is being powered, correct? is that wire powered only when the controller is on? turn controller off and see if it the wire is still powered. if controller is turned off and there is no power, then i would suspect a bad controller. got a spare controller or a buddy with one that you could try?

and is that the only wire that is being powered? check the wires that feed the other 2 coils.

    Is the control in float?

good point - s1 is the valve to lower the plow. it remains energized when plow is lowered even after angling left or right so that plow can "float". once the plow is lowered, it will remain in "float" until plow is raised.

put plow in raised position and s1 should not be powered. fact is if you are able to raise the plow and it stays up, then the s1 valve would have to be deactiviated.

That's absolutely correct. If S1 is active the plow will raise but fall back down immediately after releasing the up button. Any other valve sticking would cause other problems.

The plow s functions work great except the angle right. And s2 was staying energized. Fixed it thou. Here is the test. 1) unplug at grill, not energized plug back in move controller energized again. 2) unplug at controller energized again.
Bought new controller problem fixed $285.00 bucks
Thanks for all your help we will fix the problem permanently when we update to a new western this one is 13 years old.
    Thanks again. :mechanic:
