While plowing last night had a driver lose all of his fluid on a uni mount, seems like reservoir has TWO drain plugs? allen drain tight, had a "bolt" drain plug that may be stripped, is this correct? Havent dealt with unimount in a while.

If it IS correct, could bolt need o ring?

Drain plug on bottom. Overflow plug on front side. Both I believe are Allen head...fill plug is on top.

None of those fittings use o-rings

Those plugs are NPF so they do not require sealant or an o-ring. If a bolt was placed in the drain plug opening, the threads may be stripped and require re-tapping to the next size up NPF.

Usually NPT threads can be saved as they are tapered so try chasing the NPT threads first. I think these are 1/4" NPT threads. The next step up is 3/8" NPT threads which I don't think you want to do just yet.

Its not the drain plug, but a bolt that mounts the frame to power unit, why would that be leaking, I dont see any visible cracks

You mean the lower mounting lug? There is an o ring in there. That's your leak. Are the bolts loose, stripped?

Took it out, doesnt seem stripped, thought it was last night, but maybe crushed o ring more? Any idea where the o ring goes? On the bolt? part number? Thanks

Well, it's 61*f and torrential rains here.

Just get a new lug, it will come with a new o-ring. The hole for the 3/4 bolt wears out.

Yeah, I think it IS indeed stripped. I have another plow laying around, ID rather switch the entire power unit, any "easy" ways to avoid alot of wiring? Where do headlight wires lead to? Would be nice if its plugand play? but I doubt it

Changing the power unit is very simple. All you need to do is remove the hydraulic hoses (mark them), remove the cover for the valves and take a picture of what wires are plugged into where, remove + and - from motor, and then unbolt the power unit from the frame. Reverse steps to install. Super simple.

If the drain plug is stripped. After you get a pipe tap and drill. That mabey a ten minute repair.

Remove the center part of the plug and set aside. Apply JB Weld to the threads of the oil pan drain plug, both sides of the attached gasket, and the drain plug opening in the oil pan. Screw the oil pan drain plug into place.

That might get by in a pinch, but at best it's a bandaid fix. I would drill and tap, or helicoil.
