    I was wondering what the tow rating is for a 79 K20 with a 350 and a TH400? Thanks

I have the owner's manual for my '75 K25 and it does not list a specific tow rating like they do on the newer trucks. I have the 8400 GVW camper special package and heavy duty front springs and stabilizer bar, but have never seen any gudelines how this affects my towing capability.

If you mount a class III or IV frame hitch, you should be good to 5000 lbs without any problems. I think the weak point may be the truck's brakes, so I would want electric trailer brakes if I towed more than about 4000 lbs.
