Toro 521 'carb settings'

Just installed a new OEM Tecumseh carburetor on my 1993 Toro 521 snow blower. I am most certain that I noted the linkage holes used and repeated with the new carburetor, but, the machine seems to be under-powered. It runs very smoothly but as if at half-throttle. Does anybody have good photos or illustrations to share that might show these factory linkage 'settings'?
One other possible contributing factor, I replaced the fuel line but rather than following the factory routing ( because I did not want to snap a head bolt removing the shroud ) I routed it externally and added a fuel filter. Let's say that I easily doubled the length of fuel line between the fuel tank and carburetor.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you.
