I have about 50 residential driveways that I plow. I was wondering if I should worry about laying salt down afterwards during thawing and refreezing. I only salt about 2 customers per their request.I am worried about liability issues with homeowners slipping and falling. Does anyone else salt residential driveways while plowing? Thanks.

We make a point in our contracts, that salting is recommended. But will only be applied upon owner's request. Any slip and fall to be the homeowner's liability. Then they sign. Probably half decide to salt the driveway and walk. If it looks bad, sometimes I will salt a drive that doesn't pay for salt, just to cover my ass.
