IS THERE SUPPOSED TO BE PLAY IN THE BOLT GOING THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF MY PUMP??? OR SHOULD IT BE TIGHT? IT HAS QUITE A BIT OF MOVEMENT. THANKS

There should be a small amount of play, just enough to let the pump move freely on the bolt, but not enough to let it walk around.Check the bolt or pin first, for excessive wear,as they are cheap and easy to replace,or it may be the pump base which is worn, which can be replaced separatly on some plow pumps.

The pump base is solid 1" cast on most models.

More than likely it's the clevis on the plow mount. Almost every manufacturer uses too light of steel 3/16" or 1/4" which wears with use.
