So I’m using model hvi 13 fluid ,in my unimount power plow . thinking of switching over to the “blue” fluid . I read not to mix fluids . Is draining/clean the tank and purging the rams and lines enough to get the old fluid out . Or does the system need to be flushed with a cleaner before adding a different brand fuid

No. I would flush and clean the reservoir, rams and hoses, install blue, then drain reservoir and fill again.

so don't use a cleaner fluid like meyer hydro ,just drain and purge then use the blue fluid to flush it system??

Two dump and fills and normal seasonal dump and fill at the end of the year should be fine.

Why are you switching fluid?

I found my 1yr old bottle of fisher blue to have some gel like gunk in it so went to what napa has.

I drained and cleaned my plow but think some old fluid was left in the lines because my plow
“Froze” up again . So if I’m going to clean and drain the plow also purge the rams. I was thinking going from hvi 13 to the blue fluid

What did it do when it froze?

I had a frozen plow lastnight. Tapped the motor a few times not even pushing the button and it worked fine. New motor and i cover the plow off season.

The screen inside get ice crystals if you have moisture and the screen gets clogged cause of the pump not to suck enough. Only seems to happen when it gets extreme cold
