I replaced the stereo about a week ago with a double din touchscreen and back up camera. Then I put the sander on a few days later. I go out to sand yesterday and no tail, warning or plate lights. I put the hazards on and went and sanded a few places.

Now Im trying to fix this and all my fuses are good. I found a break in a brown and black wire by trailer connector. I fixed that and tested the brown and only got like 5v. Pretty sure this is shorting somewhere between here and the firewall. I have so much **** wired up sander, dump, plow, etc. I dont know where to start. I have LEDs so I dont think its a burned bulb. Its looking like im going to have to trace power from what the head light switch to the light assembly?

May want to check the bulb just in case that is the problem before going through all if the more complicated stuff. Always check the simple stuff first; can’t hurt.

ive had to replace the brow tail light wire on severall SD trucks ive owned.
Much like the brake lines, they brown wire usually rots in the loom behind the fuel tank. I usually replace it up to the firewall

Yeah I unplugged lights and no power at housing and wire. Think the body control module or the headlight switch give its power. Going to go try to find power by cab. The roof and mirror lights work but I dont want to feed off that.

I found 3 breaks in the wire and thought I had it fixed. Ended up being a loose wire in the connector between the main harness and light harness(on light side). I was able to pull the brown wire right out of it.
