My brother has an '88 or '89 Ford F Superduty, 2 wheel drive dually. The steering wheel has a good bit of travel before it starts to turn the wheels. There are a few items that are adding to this play: tie rod end, steering box, but, the worst offender is the slip joint on the 2 piece steering shaft. There is a plastic insert between the inner and outer shaft that is worn thin. Is this plastic sleeve available? I talked with NAPA and they couldn't pull it up on their computer. Do I have to replace the 2 piece shaft? That would seem a bit excessive for a $2 chunk of plastic.
