I don't remember being asked if I wanted an option for HID lights on my 2011 VXT. How do I know if I have them and if not, can I purchase HID lights anywhere? Are they worth it? My lights suck but, they are pointed down - need to be aligned properly. The delaer must have overlooked that point.

You cannot get HID lights from Boss any longer. You woudn't want to anyways.....they were like $1200 dollars

You can get HID kits from just about anywhere. I personally suggest DDM Tuning and getting their slim ballast kit. The kits come with 2 bulbs and 2 ballasts. I would suggest converting low beams first and then if you like it, you can always convert your high beams.

Its really as simple as changing a light bulb. Best $40 bucks I have ever spent.

There are a number of threads on this topic, just search Boss HID

ya aftermarket hid kits are your best bet, just make sure the vendor is in the usa and they have lifetime warranty, it sucked having to ship my old ballasts to hong kong when they went bad.

ddmtuning is a good place, ive bought kits from retrosolutions as well, great service there.

anyways, i have hid's in my headlight and foglight on my 09 350 from retrosolutions, i have contemplated putting them in my boss lights (newer style) but i have them properly aimed and i found no need for them, they put out quite a bit of light. i may install silverstars in there later on. i also plow in the city/suburbs so there is plenty of light around anyways

halogen headlight housings are not designed for hid bulbs and do not reflect the light properly, you will be getting flashed by oncoming drivers all the time if you have them in your plow lights. i get flashed for my headlights and ive turned them down a bit as well. i will be doing a projector installation to properly utilize a hid bulb
