I have a buyers SS 8' v-box sander I'm getting ready for the season. I'm putting a new drag chain and idler shaft, pulleys, bearings and spinner shaft chain. My question is the cross members that the chain drags on on the very bottom. they are just pieces of ss angle iron welded upside down and they are getting grooves worn in pretty good. I don't want the chain to get bound up if they wear too far. Is there an easier fix besides torching them out and welding new ones in?

Got an old cutting edge? Weld on pieces of it's high carbon steel. It should last a long time.
