    Whose hose do you use?

Do you flush your hose assemblies after fittings are pressed and then pressure test them with an aeroquip hose cabinet using water under maximum hydraulic pressures for the hoses rated working pressure?

How often do you duty cycle test a random assembly to burst or not?

Are you offering hoses rated for use with water based fire resistant hydraulics?
Do you offer hose protector sleeves as an option?

    Hi Leon

    Great questions.

United Hose has it's own private brand line of hydraulic hose, we also manufacture our own line of hydraulic hose fittings to mate with our hose.
The hose we carry is sae100r17 specification. This is a one wire steel braid hose with 3000psi pressure ratings on sizes 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch.

We skive the hose to insure excellent coupling retention.
We randomly pressure test a sample hose out of the batch run we are doing.
Hoses get air blown to remove any dust particles inside the rubber.
Our hose assemblies have been impulse tested at a laboratory and have passed SAE impulse testing.
Hope this answers your questions, if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

    hi wildwilly

the majority of snowplow hoses are 1/4 size and mostly come with 1/4npt or #6female jic.

prices from princess auto: hose approx $2.00ft, 1/4 npt $4 each, #6 female ijc $6 each

fisher part #56599 our price $9.49 princess auto $18

to compare prices measure length of hose multiply by $2 for hose cost, if the hose on our website is 4mp that is 1/4 male pipe which princess auto sells for $4 each if the hose on our website is 6fjx that is princess auto #6female jic which princess auto sells for $6 each
so you can compare prices for yourself.

as far as they're service and qulaity i do not know what they're service and quality are like

FYI - 3,000 psi is too low for the Fisher XtremeV and MVP Plus ram hoses. The ram end 3/8 hoses are on a 4,600 psi relief valve. The 1/4 inch rod end hoses are on a 3,700 psi relief valve.

I recently had two 3/8 x 42" hoses with JIC 6 (IIRC) fittings made up locally. He used two wire 5,200 psi hose. $22 each.

    hi dognapper

our 1/4 hose blows up at 16000psi so it really is rated 4000psi so it should be fine for the 1/4 inch end rod hose.

our 3/8 hose blows up at 13500 psi so it is really rated at approx 3400psi. so you should go with a two wire hose on the ram end 3/8 hoses.

rating is burst pressure divided by 4
