Anyone ever work on or tear apart the transmission on a 1075 spreader. Mine is rumbling and was wondering if any parts are replaceable without buying whole transmission. Photo's of inside would be great? Don't want to tear down right at the moment.

i just took apart the transmission on my 1875... dont know if there the same or not... new one was like 335 or something... the reason for this was the shaft was bent... local machinist made the new shaft and i bought new bearings and freeze plugs... ive got the part #'s for the bearings if you need them... ill have to look but think it was 6002??? $13 each... once you get the large frost plug out ( punched hole in it w/ screwdriver ) take out the snap ring... the tricky part is pressing the shaft off the bearings ,,, there is a woodruff key that it needs to slide over... carquest had the frost plugs on the shelf ( think it was an 11/4" o.d. ) $1.36 for the 2... def not worth buying the whole assembly... the 2 gears in mine were fine, if this is your problem and not just the baerings i wouldnt know where to get them... hope this helps...
