What does everyone do with residential snow banks, you know the ones that show up right after you park the truck. Do you go back and clean up after the city? Do you charge for it, or is it included in your price?

It really depends on the time and situation. If the city hasn't plowed before I plowed, then I plow the end for free, because they are paying me to do the whole driveway, so if I beat the city and they blow a foot of snow at the end, I'll just drop the plow push the snow away and away I go to the next. BUT if I do it again at the end of day, if they salted and plowed slush or whatever, then it's a charge, it's hard to explain.......

We plow driveways for free, then charge $150 bucks to clean up the city windrows. Unsuspecting elderlies think were the bomb, until Mr Plow comes through and they cant get in or out, and we show up, and they hand us their checkbooks full of signed checks. JFWU man.

I'd imagine that should be included in your price-but what do I know, we dont plow driveways.

Thats why most resis get a contract, its because of those big beautiful, heavy, never know when they will appear snow banks. They mostly show up just before you want to get in or out of your drive. :)

I don't charge extra when I go around and open the end of the driveway after the town gets done pushing the banks back.

I usually go by the drives again on my way back home. Open them for free because if the crap freezes solid you will not get it moved later.

agreed, it doesn't take too long to drive my rout on the way home. It's much better to do it at that time than when you are sitting at home for the night and get a call that you have to go back out again.
