The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) is pleased to announce that application packets are now available for the 2009 Snow Warrior Awards. The awards for Excellence in Business, Employee of the Year, and Safety will be presented at the awards banquet at the 12th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Louisville, KY in June 2009.

The Snow Warrior Awards honor those who have demonstrated commitment to the snow and ice industry through continuous involvement, enthusiasm, and leadership. The Excellence in Business Award is given to a company that has demonstrated success in the following competencies: business practices, customer satisfaction, community relations, and accountability. Interested companies submit an application, which is then reviewed by a panel of judges.

The Employee of the Year Award is presented to one hard-working individual recognized for displaying excellence at work, providing leadership, and standing as an example for the industry. Companies can nominate someone for the Employee of the Year Award by filling out a nomination form and submitting it to a panel of judges for review.

Safety Awards are presented to those companies who have demonstrated exceptional safety procedures and execution throughout the year. Candidates fill out an entry form and complete a safety checklist, which is then reviewed by a panel of judges.

2008 Winners include: for Excellence in Business – David J. Frank Landscape Contracting, Inc. (Germantown, WI) & Pro-Scapes, Inc. (Jamesville, NY), for Employee of the Year – Adam Tyman, Clintar Groundskeeping Services (London, ON), and for Safety Awards – Four Seasons Landscaping, Inc., David J. Frank Landscape Contracting, Inc., Grant & Power Landscaping, Pro-Scapes, Inc., D.J.’s Lawn Service, Inc., Clintar Groundskeeping Services (London, ON), East End Snow & Ice Management, Inc., and Good Earth Landscape Contractors.
