I bought a used SHPE2000 which was a month old with one snow storm used on it. It however has the extended shoot which does not work for my GMC2500 because it sits 4" off the ground. I heard you can just cut the extended version down 6" to make the shoot shorter and then reattach the bracket. Has anyone does this? Any downsides of doing this? Or anyone have directions or an idea on exactly how much I should take off the top end of the spreader to match the short shoot? Thanks

we had the same problem with a spread we bought, we just ended up throwing down some pallets in the bed of the truck, problem solved

Exactly, just unbolt the components and bolt them to a short chute body.
