Can anyone help me out about how to use these two together, can you use a tail gate spreader to spread the two together. Thanks

We use all the time about a 70% sand 30% salt mix works great not as good as straight salt but good

Yes you can. The salt is mainly just to keep the sand from freezing.

Make sure the sand and salt are dry too. I use 2- 70lbs bags of sand to 1- 50lb bag of salt.

How dry does sand have to be to spread. I ordered 15 ton a week ago and working on mixing it with salt now its pretty wet. How do you know if its too wet to spread without running it through a spreader. I just bought a Salt Dogg 1.5yd poly electric.
