I have sean them in use, mostly by towns and state dots. The setup i have sean is a reversible plow on the front, or a one way plow. A wing on the "passenger's side", and the center blade, used to increase scraping ability. I have sean them in use on a lot, mostly on roads, worked great for scraping hard pack and ice. Also sean them used to widen out roads, as they began to narrow.

A company I used to work for used one to clear oil lease roads. We had a V-plow on front, a center blade, plus a wing. Worked good for clearing roads into the location, but once the road to the well or drilling location was opened, we used backhoe/loaders to move snow. The grader was just not manuverable enough in tighter spots. We also ran tire chains.

My road grader has a float function on the center blade so obsticles are not a big issue, also the blade can be hydralicly tipped forward so it does not catch on every thing. The machine I have is also articulated in the middle making it alot more manuverable. We use it mostly for airport runways but I have thought about a front bade for larger lots, just was wondering if anyone else was doing this.

We take care of the entire local airport,1 mile long 100ft wide main runway, one 1/2 mile long 100ft wide secondary runway, taxiways apron, public hangers, private hangers and parking area. The runway is equiped with complete ILS system which means the last three hundred yard have to be carried the 100ft across. We use tandem and S/A dumps, road grader, rubber tired loaders,no pushers the operations guy for the city doesn't like them, which is fine I have other places for them and we get paid by the hour.

Iowa,
How many beers have ya had today? That last post by JA was from before his vacation ;) I'm sorry that the rest of us posting here aren't interesting enough for you this week. Hopefully he'll show up here soon & spice up the forum for you. We wouldn't want you sitting around bored.

No beers today (or last week for that matter)
I was going to say that JA was the main provider of chances at humor here, but now that 'God' has chimed in, I'm beginning to salivate at the opportunity get in on that one!
