I price my residentals by the inch. Upto 4", 4"-7", 7"-10", and so on. We plow the driveway, shovel or snowblow where the plow can not go, and do the walk from the driveway to the front steps. An average driveway in our area is 2 cars wide and 4 or 5 cars long. Upto 4" is 80.00, 4"-7" is 95.00 and so on.

Yeah but he is in NJ. They charge 80 because they only plow once or twice per winter. They have to pay for the toys somehow.

Central NJ is tricky. Last year we only had 8.3". 2004-2005 we had 42.4" for the season. Your right Ford, We might only have 1 or 2 plowable events to recover our snow season overhead. (All of my TOYS!)

Not many will touch a driveway of that size for less than $40 around here.

:dizzy: What was the original question again.... Oh yeah......

Someone pointed out to start searching the old threads - there is tons of info. The gist is you can do; Seasonal, Automatic based on trigger or drive around with your hand out.

Pricing depends upon what it's worth to you your client and your area. $25 for the driveway maybe add if they want shoveling of the walk, salt is always extra or maybe your running a psecial and you through salt in for your base price.

Bottom line - there is no set standard.

I figure about $25-$35 for most drives around here. And then about $5-$10 extra to do the walks. And if they want salt, then about $10-$15 on top of that. So with all that added up, most drives and walks with salr are around $40-$60 or so... Most don't want salt though.

That's just for plowing the driveway and shoveling the walkway, no sand.
