I have diagnosed that the Western motor on my plow is shot thus I need a new one. Original part # is 56133 from Western. I was told by a local vendor that they carry a replacement motor from Fischer, part A5819, that will work. I looked up the model and it indeed does look identical to the one I have albeit a different color.

Can anyone confirm that the motor does indeed work?

I'm really hoping I just put on the new motor, tighten the two mounting screws, reattach the positive and negative cable and voila, I'm back in business.

While I had the motor off I also removed the pump just to make sure the shaft was spinning without restriction. Pump screen was rather clean but I cleaned it a bit more anyway. Fluid is cherry red but I'll take your advice and drain it anyway and try to vacuum out any sediment that may have collected on the bottom.

Just wanted to confirm to everyone that the new Fischer motor does fit and work perfectly as a replacement to the OEM Western motor. A snap to install and. Line up the pump shaft, put on the gasket, tighten two bolts, attach the positive and negative and your done.
