I want to refinish my 8' western conventional the original powder coat is 85% gone but the metal on the blade as well as the frame is solid. The thing is I dont want to spend a ton of money and will be doing the rehab myself. Has anyone done this on the cheap if so what kind of supplies\methods were used any input would be appreciated. The plow will most likely only be used for one or two seasons before being replaced.

Try disconecting the rams and then sandblast the plow and get some decent paint at a local paint distributer.

if the rust is not that bad ,pressure wash the dirt and grease off , take a air mounted wire wheel and nock the bad stuff off sand the edges lightly and i like to use a product called rust mort made buy sem products . on the bare rusty metal .it's a converter ,then use rustoleum red oxide primer and i just brushed it on and used brush on red rustoleum .worked great . :waving:
