I'm trying to help a friend ( fellow landscaper) fix a Fisher 8' vee box spreader. He bought it new in 2001. It is a stainless tub with a new this month drag chain.

The last storm the 90 degree gear box destructed itself and he needs to find a used one. Local dealer wants over $900 for the new unit. He's trying to stitch it back together until he can afford a new spreader. I know that older spreaders repairs can cost as much as buying a new one.

    Fisher part # 68374

Does anyone have a rusted out or parts unit willing to sell the gear box?

I know alot of you guys are pretty creative.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you. Steve
