Hi trying to fix our plow while my dad is out of town. During plowing today the right hand ram bent and cracked i am in the process of replacing it without instructions of course and need to know, Do I need to fill the new ram with hydraulic fluid before installing it?

thanks and any advise would be helpful

No. Remove the hoses and the bolts. Install the new one and hook up the lines. Fill with fluid and move it from side to side a few times. Refill with fluid and you should be good to go.
