Anyone who listens to Click and Clack is probably familiar with their "Puzzlers"

I have one of my own for you.

My 81 K20 has a transplanted TBI 350 from a 90 Suburban. TH350, NP205. There is a driveabiliy "feature" that is missing from the truck.

    Please PM me your answer/guesses.

Bonus if you tell me how to fix it.

Ok, more than 50 views, no guesses. The transmission does not do something it should, the reason is the TBI.

I only work with Diesels, but I will guess that it might not lockup the torque converter because of the TBI?

No overdrive because no speed sensor?

TH350 is a three speed, no overdrive in it.

Im guessing no lock up converter. I think you need to switch to an electric lockup. I couldnt tell you how though.

Torque converter works fine. It's from a 1972, so no lockup

    Think hammer time

Yeah yeah yeah, the kickdown. I swear I knew it before that last post...

Wish I could help you fix it.

As per the rules Palmer requested in his original post, I PM'ed him days ago and told him I'd walk him though the procedure to fix the lack of kick down cable attachment on the TBI's throttle arm.

He didn't mention it in the reply PM so I guess he doesn't wanna fix it, he's just fishin' :D

Of course, B&B is correct. GM never put the TH350 behind the TBI which is why there is no linkage for the kickdown cable

If I made a list of the things I need to do in the next four months, I'm pretty sure having kickdown on a 28 year old back up truck would be very near the bottom. Followed only by inviting Dean out for Coffee.
