purge liquid pumps for summer

    As the title say guys, this is me first year with the prewet system.. are you purging the pumps for summer?? Do the liquids eat up the internals...

    I would, cheep insurance.
    Drain the pumps and run water through it to get all the brine out.

    rinse them, out some light weight oil in them....works for ag chemicals

    could also use antifreeze, anything to keep it lubed

    Our pre-wet systems have a 3 way valve for the purpose of flushing. It bypasses the actual deicing liquid going to the pump. We flush them frequently along with cleaning the filter screen during use and one final time at the end of the season. We use standard blue windshield washer fluid. Our pumps are either shur-flow electric or hydraulic and we haven't had an issue in 12 years.
