out of curiosity has anyone ever tried a (drag race style) 12 volt nitrous tank heater to keep the pump fluid nice and cozy?

Yep a good many years ago. They live for about three snow events and die.

Not designed to be in the weather.

Thats why I liked the Northman set up. The pump and hydraulic reservoir was all under the hood where it was nice and warm and kept out of the way of salt etc.

What newer plow set ups have this under hood pumps and hydraulics now days. I think on my next truck I am going back to this kind of set up.

I was thinking of getting longer hose's to the angling rams and running them
under the hood or near the radiator
