I'm not the best at diagnosing electrical problems so maybe someone can help me out. I installed a Western 8' ProPlus Ultramount straight blade on a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT in October 2007. At some point after installation my passenger side plow park/turn lamp began shining brighter than it should with both filaments always light and the turn signal inoperative because of it. I pulled the truck headlights and made sure the splices were correct and checked all fuses which were all fine.

When I take the turn signal configuration plug and reverse it, green to blue and blue to green instead of green to green and blue to blue, the drivers side plow park/turn lamp shines with both filaments light and the turn signal is inoperative while the passenger side one works fine then. I suspect this may help diagnosing the problem but am unsure what it should tell me. I have a 3 plug/3 port module and H13 headlamps. Any assistance is appreciated.

It sound like there a cross in the wiring.

Let see if I can assist you..

I would like you to re-check the following (pretty sure I have the correct color wires)

A) If the ISO is mounted on the Dr side, change the plug back to green/green blue /blue. If it mounted on the pass side then the colors would be green/blue (I don't know why they want it that way)

the color wire you should have are

Brown, Gray, and Purple

I would use a test light to make sure you are splice into the correct wires while the power is on. (ex- turn the ds side turn signal on and poke the wire that is blinking. That would be the correct wire)..(just my opinion)

brn= park. This should be splice into the parking light wire on the driver side

gray = d/s turn signal wire on the driver side

Purple = pass side turn signal

Also check the blk/orn wire. This is a common wire (ground) it clip in two places. A) off the motor (solenoid) relay, and after the connector..

Check all ground wires

Question= Are the headlight (plow and truck) working correctly??

Like i mention just want to make sure you have everything connect in the correct place..

Hopefully I'll get a chance tomorrow to check out what's listed above, thanks for the assistance so far and both the truck and plow headlights work properly.

The colors are wrong. I was looking at the wrong color code schematic..Sorry for the confusion..

The colors are green stamp with two letters.. They come out of the "B" port

Also want to mention, check to make sure they are not rubbing against any metal..

I re-read your statement regarding the signal light.. This has something to do with the "plow" park/turn light, not the truck park turn light..

Q= Did you have to wire the lights on the plow?

If so, re-check the pass side (plow) to make sure the connector is not put on backward, and the common wire (blk/orn) is still attach and not corrode.

Still check the (3) loose wires for the park and turn for the truck side to make sure they are tap into the correct OEM wires and not scraping against any metal..

Let us know what happens
