    What do you guys use for base production rates on a bobcat w/ a 8 foot push box and bigger equipment like a tractor or loader w/ a 10 or 12 ft. box?

    I know a truck w/ plow is about 1 acre an hour on an open lot, any help on the bigger equipement?

    snow removal etc.

    visibility, available traction, and snow cover at 21 pounds per cubic foot with no melt, plus hidden ice;

    speed of travel times width of blade to estimate

    1 MPH times 10 feet wide times length of pass to finish
    88 feet per minute times 10 feet wide times 2,000 feet for example
    LW*speed= square feet per pass at "width"

    2000 divided by 88 equals 23 minutes per pass raise your speed accordingly.....
    2,000 square feet every 23 minutes at 1 MPH for example
    6,000 3 MPH
    10,000 5 MPH

    so if you had a lot that was vacant not including light poles or sewer drains to avoid of 100,000 square feet
    and you had 10 foot pusher and runs of 2000 feet you would have 5 passes to clear it not counting light poles
    and drain avoidance and traveling at 5 miles and hour it would take an hour and almost 45 minute totally dependent
    upon visibility, traction conditons and snow depth

    This does not include time lost for braking, raising, dumping or reversing and turning pusher when the
    prime mover can no longer advance due to snow weight in front of blade.

    This site is great for this stuff, even though I'm a member of SIMA, I can't remember my user name/pass word at this moment, I check & the info I need is here.
