when i start the truck, i have a loud squeek under the hood. it's worse when the truck is cold and wet. anyone else have this problem. it's a 99 silverado 1500. i'm thinking it might be bad bearings in one of the shafts. i'm gonna replace the belt and see what happens. also, my steering when going slow seems to make a noise and kinda fights to turn the wheels. bad pump?, it's not low in fluid. any help would be appreciated.

belt could be slipping causing the ps pump to not deliver the necessary pressure.

Could be defective belt, tensioner, or alt etc....Rob

Belt tensioner and guide pully - about $60 total. My truck eats them every 3 years. Noise comes and goes depending upon moisture and temperature.
