Just went over all my production sheets for December snow events. Here's what I came up with so far.

DECEMBER PRODUCTION STATS
AVG INCHES YTD INCLUDING AVG DRIFTED INCHES = 18"
TOTAL PRODUCTION TIME OUT = 99.05HRS
TOTAL # OF WORKING DAYS = 8.75
TOTAL PRODUCTION/COMMUTING MILES DRIVEN = 1,119MI
TOTAL FUEL COST INCLUDING SNOWBLOWER = $557.25
TOTAL AMOUNT OF SALT APPLIED = 41.5 #50 BAGS (#2,075)
TOTAL COST OF SALT = $166
FUEL/SALT = $723.25
INSURANCE = $228
REPAIRS/TRUCK&EQUIP INCLUDING PURCHASES = $700
ESTIMATE OF WHAT IT COST ME SO FAR THIS MONTH JUST TO OPERATE= $1,651.25
I'm sure I could factor in some other things such as wear and tear, food, my time & labor w/repairs and workable hrs, etc... but as long as I can see the big picture and have an idea of were I'm at I have an Idea of what I need to make to pay the bills and myself.

Feel free to make some suggestions or feed back.

We keep detailed records of time used per inch on each peice of equipment used. fuel per hour, repairs based on hours used. None plowing time so on are records go back 10 years. so when you bid you Know what the profit is going to be. The more info you have the better you can bid. We try to get it with in 10 cents an hour.
