Can any one tell what is happening to me plow blade and why
its freezing up on me. I have to use a hair dryer to free it up.
I've been plowing for many years and I've never had this problem
before. I'd appreciate any advice you can give me, thank you.

Chance fluid annually,Drain your system annually.
Full with a quality hydraulic fluid.

Meyer makes a good flush or flush it out with some hydraulic fluid.

Its not always internal, we have had a lot of freezing rain, and if the ram freeze's up the plow wont move. I started using de-icer spray on my plow ram cylinder to keep it from freezing up

I have an old Mark IIIa cable operated system and was having similar problem. Found that even though where cable entered the body for 3-way and 4-way valves looked sealed, water was still getting in and freezing the valves. Took off the cover plates and water poured out. Sealed the cable entrance point and haven't had the problem again

I had the same problem and a fluid change was the ticket.
