I have an older Western plow and everything works fine on it except when I am driving down the road the plow keeps slowly lowering and I am constantly raising it up. What would cause this and how is it fixed? Thanks!

Is it power by hydraulic? Is valve on that leak? Most they would last 10 years then o-ring in valve get dry then crack then let leak.

Or cylinder is worn out cause leak in seal o-ring.

plow keeps lowering by itself while driving

It is a hydraulic. I just put a new seal kit in it to try and correct the problem, but that didn't do the trick. Could it be the fluid that I use? Any other ideas?

since it is an older plow most all of them leak. You could have a leak in one of your hydraulic hoses causing it to lose its pressure and drop the blade. Check your hydraulic level and see if it goes down. If not then you are looking at a completely different problem. But yes you are correct and you shouldn't have to keep lifting the plow when you drive down the road.

Take your pump to a dealer and have them do a leak down test. You probably have a valve that is stuck, loose, or bad o ring.
