Hey all: I have 9 foot MM1 straight edge plow on a F350 dump. For some reason, when I try to engage "float" mode by pushing down on the joystick for more than 5 seconds it doesn't allow me to push down on the front piston. Is that the only way to make it float? Any idea what could get in the way of floating? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Did your spring cable break that runs to yur A-Frame off of your lift triangle? Or maybe the cable came off of the spring...Besides those two things I cant think of anything...I know one of our plows the cable came off and it wouldnt allow it to float. The triangle only comes down as much as the plow pulls the chains down then it stops. Im sure you already thought of this, but its the only time Ive seen this come up!
not sure if the MM2 is like the MM1, but on mine, MM1, there are a bunch of control valves in a plastic box, I need to take the cover off and wiggle the connections, as one of them will open the valve so the plow will drop. Also, wiggle your connection to the truck, if one is not making contact it will not open the valve to drop the plow.
Im guessing that the plow is dropping as it should?
Many times the packing become dried out or the packing nut is to tight. Easy way to check to see if it really is floating is to find a drive or lot with a steep approach, drop the plow and push it just over the apex of the approach, get out and see if the cylinder collapsed all the way. If it really isnt going into float mode then it more than likely the controller.
