What's the big deal on pin wear when buying used skids? im new to skids, but I would think they are just a wear item like ball joints, and no biggie to replace? But everyones Soo afraid of pins being worn, like the skid is junk at that point

Well I'm no expert but the pins can be pretty expensive. The real issue is that a worn pin is a guage as to how the unit was used/abused and can be and indicator of improper pin maintenance. The pins were not greases at regular intervals and not replaced when necessary. Which will mean the pin boss is worn as well and then your talking big dollars to properly repair.

But essentially you are correct. If the machine is in good shape and the bosses are not worn the pins can easily be replaced.
