Why are there still management companies looking for seasonal quotes at this time of the year? There has been multiple email and phone requests in the last two weeks. I've asked around ,there doesn't seem to be any less landscape companies around from other years.

They're wising up and not working for them? Or not taking the prices offered by them?

They're betting the grass won't grow this year... And then it was knee deep.

I think it’s the quality of work or reliability, I got that plaza back I doubled the price on in 2017, they went through 5 companies between then and now.

They called me twice over the years for the snow/grass but I told them I was booked (the contracts start in November), this time they just asked for the lawn cutting but hinted at the snow.
You should have seen the damage that was done in the winter, entire section of concrete broken, numerous chunks out of concrete taken out, tore out a whole swath of bushes with the sprinklers, somebody was in a bad mood, lol.

I see it here too, guys using tractors to do more, overextended and hurrying their operators get clumsy. I'm willing to bet some guys do more money in damage than I do in snow altogether. Some salt bins are still out around town, they're so busy hitting the ground running in the summer they just don't care. It's all about volume, priced to get the work, then complain there's better money elsewhere when you sell it to the next schmuck.

I often think when I retire I'll need something to do. Property management has popped up a few times. I think any landscaper who runs a good business and is efficient would be able to manange properties well. I guess the only thing I lack is the thick skin to put up with peoples bull 💩

Funny you say that...went past an account today that has been getting serviced screwed by Brightview.

One of the local top 2 salt companies is now servicing it.

Not sure anyone every "wins" a bid from Brightview.

I blame the greedy customers looking for the cheapest guy

3 or 4 new "Landscape" companies started here this spring .

Mini - x and a dump trailer and a fancy name .

I know 2 of them did not have Insurance when they Plowed Snow .

They are in for a costly surprise when they cut a Gas or Bell line .

Sunny and a lot cooler today .

The CFO did a bunch of containers yesterday. She was initially planning on a big week this week and then decided to hold off.

She is starting today on some beds.

Biggest problem is availability after Mother's Day. She has a lot reserved but sometimes those "disappear".
