Friday and Saturday the forecast was nice so decided to take a the last hunting trip up to my cabin in Atlanta mi.got up there was about 13" of wet snow and i am a mile and half off of black top.i had my 06 Chevy 3500 reg. cab srw dura max allison w/ a 9.2 boss v poly , a 1000 pounds of ballast, and 4 brand new 265-75-16 bfg all terrain kos.my cousin drove up his 98 chevy 1500 z71 short box ext cab w/ a5.7l and 265 mud tracs.so we get up there and i bust through where the county plows plowed the entrance across and keep it a vee get all the way back there fighting frozen snowmobile tracks where they drove across my drive.get back to my yard go to clear out some my yard and as soon as i go to any position besides vee my truck wont push.but my cousins was driving through it?finally got yard cleaned up and went out hunting,we both shot a deer.so i decided to clear a path to my pole barn.got stuck put it in reverse heard a loud clunk and lost 4wd.got out and looked and busted the passenger side half shaft.tryed to pull it out the z71 but it would not do it until we put all the ballast in his truck a got out a 4" tow strap got int the yard tore it apart in the snow did not have big enough socket and not get it off w/ anything else so went the barn and dragged a set of cutting torches about a 150 yards though the snow fun.heated the nut and took it off with channel locks.than had to disconnect the sway bar to get it out.put it back together went in to go to bed(now its almost mid night) about 3am heard a bunch of dogs outside and than realized they were coyotes and we did not hang the deer.got dressed grabbed the 480 went outside and they on the deer.shot one the rest took off.so we through them in the back of the truck.went back to bed.went to leave the next morning and had to get pulled all the way to the road.hopefully my dealership can get fixed in the morning.sorry just had to rant.
