What ....if anything......can I use that is environmentally safe on a large parking lot..... in a water shed area? Have been using straight sand in the past, but was hoping something liquid would fit the bill!

You can use Potassium Acetate, super pricey and doesn't work spectacularly well. But its one of the few choices....

Potassium Acetate is used at almost every major airport throughout North America. It is expensive compared to a liquid calcium or magnesium but will work to -71. Airports use it as a pre-treatment and then use a solid like Sodium Formate.. Either of these not only meet EPA regulations for use around wetlands (where many airports are located) but also are also very non-corrosive. Give us a call if you have questions about either product.
