    New WESTERN® WIDE-OUT™ Snowplow

Milwaukee, Wis. (March 7, 2007) – The new Western WIDE-OUT adjustablewing
snowplow hydraulically extends its width and adjusts its configuration to
effectively carry or windrow more snow.

With the innovative moveable-wing design, you hydraulically control each wing to
transform the blade into the plowing configuration that best meets your needs –
    from an eight-foot straight-blade width, to a 10-foot straight-blade width, to a
scoop position width of nearly nine feet.

“The WIDE-OUT can fully angle in the scoop position to increase snow-carrying
capacity while maneuvering around obstacles or turning corners,” said Dan
Bousman, Director of Sales and Marketing for Western Products. “And, for
unmatched windrowing productivity, you can position the leading wing in the
scoop position to direct more snow into the moldboard – this reduces spill-over
and efficiently utilizes the full blade width.”

Controlling the WIDE-OUT is easy with a responsive hand-held control unit that
features backlit push buttons for all blade and wing functions. “Both wings can
be controlled independently, or by simply holding the ‘scoop’ button both wings
simultaneously extend into the scoop mode,” adds Bousman. “Likewise, a
‘retract’ button simultaneously retracts both wings to the straight-blade position.”

Like other Western straight-blade plows, the WIDE-OUT has a trip-blade design
with four trip springs for protection from hidden obstacles. And the WIDE-OUT is
easy to attach or remove with Western’s proven UltraMount® attachment system.

That looks like a good plow. I wonder if Western worked out all its kinks? Any risk takers?

I doubt there will be many kinks, all the western guys had to do was paint a blizzard red, and modify the mounting system. It's not like DD ever makes any great technological advancements. They buy other's technology an incorporate it into their product lines. The one with the kinks could be the Fisher XLS, they had to modify it to make it a trip edge.
Maybe next they'll buy Meyer so they can add auto-plow and the blade vibrator.

The DD marketing material should read; We've incorporated Blizzard's innovative moveable-wing design. We will dis-band blizzard corp. and discontinue the name in hopes you will forget about them and credit us with innovative thinking.
