Just purchased a Ram 2500, crew with 6.5 box, Snow prep/Snow Chief package. 6.4l Hemi. Ordered a 9.5' Meyer V3 and Snowex 575. Will post pictures when everything gets installed. My question is, I have the ability in this truck to limit top gear I want to run in the transmission, is this a necessary thing? I assumed running in tow/haul mode would be sufficient? Any information on the proper use of such would be great! I cant really understand from the manual when you would really need to use this option, unless maybe to help with decline engine braking.

If you ever go pull grade or if you are pulling into a headwind if the truck is gear searching between two gears.

As you said, it is nice when grade braking.

If you are pulling a wagon or an implement without brakes, it really comes in handy.
