"broke" the hot rod tonight. tore the upper engine mount. think I have a spare at home.
also the kid's car's convertible top decided to stop working right. turns out the passenger lift cylinder is leaking. we're going to pull the complete assembly (pump/hoses/cylinders) from the parts car and swap them en mass, so I don't have to break the system and bleed everything. that's of course assuming I don't see a puddle of fluid in the parts car when we pull it apart.
and I didn't get to work on the wife's car while she was gone this week. it needs a new brake master cylinder it looks like.

truly, if it's got tits or tires, it's gonna give you trouble.
6 guys doing annuals every day is crazy, how long does it take to finish all your flower jobs?
About 3 weeks, my guys have it down to a science at this point

Can someone please educate me on the difference between “ amine 400” 2,4-d weed killer and trimec lawn weed killer?

I don't know anything about amine, but I know my buddy sprays with trimec, and I spray with surge...and my lawns always look better

We spray Trimec bentgrass formula for bentgrass, but that's about it. Surge is all we use for 90% + of applications, Q4 for any stubborn crabgrass or sedge that gets through in a hot summer, and sedgehammer for kyllinga

I've been spraying surge also, last year was the first I saw any kyllinga just a little at two of my houses, I sprayed it with roundup right a few weeks before aerating time and then just raked it all out and seeded. It wasn't much but I want to be more prepared for it this year. Is sedgehammer all that works on it?

Vexis also works on it.

I've had good luck with sedgehammer, but it does need a second spray in a lot of cases. First shot gets 95% then it just needs a quick spot spray to get the last of it

Vexis also works on it.
Granular? I have one new lawn that's got a ton of it, would be nice to thin it out for now

yea. especially since 33andrain shut down.
On the topic of pesticides, how much of a pain in the ass is the applicators license? The guy I used to refer tree spraying etc to is retiring at the end of the year, so I think it's probably time to at least weigh doing it myself

Looks like the tent caterpillars are a problem this year.

I would say just do like 90% of the landscapers in my area do, do it anyway without the license, but that's probably not as easy to get away with when you're doing trees. Not that there's any real enforcement anyway

It's not hard, but go over the book before taking a test. The "classes" you need to take are a waste of time (required, but useless) unless it's with Mike Reed.

I got it, but I did have to take one section of the test a second time. It wasn't as hard as I thought but I just have it for turf application so trees and shrubs might be harder

No rain in sight, lawns will be in mid summer form by this time next week if that holds true

Read my mind. Fingers crossed we don't go into another drought this year, there's not a lot of work out there as it is.

Had a handful of people ask us to skip today and a handful call to go to every other week already. Hasn’t been this dry this early here in a long time. I think I heard 3rd driest may on record. 1/2” of rain….northeast maryland
