Good evening,
I stumbled across this forum a couple years ago and just lurked. Im a septic installer and plumber by trade but this year I started as a call in plow operator for the municipality.
Just before getting hired I purchased a 2009 Sterling L9500 for my business to run as a tandem, but it’s outfitted with Viking snow equipment. I’m still undecided whether to sell off the plow equipment or to bid on municipal contracts.
I can’t wait to learn from the wealth of knowledge here.

Welcome aboard, sounds like you'll be able to handle the sheet here as it does get pretty deep...

You may be better off starting out as a subcontractor if you haven't plowed commercially before. Otherwise, best of luck. I would think that most contracts are already signed for the season.

Coming from me who is an engineer during the day as well as an HVAC business and Snowplowing business owner....start as a driver and make sure you enjoy the hours/work. Then take into consideration being on a contract where you have only one truck (new to you) and a job that needs to be completed.

Welcome to the Forum as well! Just recently been getting more involved but been in the industry for 15 + years.
