Isn’t that a 14 bolt differential with free floating axles? I don’t know from direct experience, but I recall from researching the 14 bolt differentials in my brooms that they were used in virtually all 2500 and 3500 chevys from 1973 to 2001. If so, they are plentiful in junkyards, or from custom shops.

found one out of 2000 rwd duell wheel, mine got rotten and over loaded and shop dont want to use it. they say leaf spring pads are shot and do not want to weld say to rusty and liability issues ((((( thanks for the site info the suburbanite)))) thats how i found it 800.00 o t d only 40 miles away .i found one 3 hours away that came out of 93 k 3500 4x4 drw for 550.00.i dont mind spending the money for newer one at all, its closer and better shape .i have been told 4 or 2 wheel will work as long as gears are the same what you guys think

also make sure its a wide or narrow DRW axle .

WIDE = pickup box and fender flares .

NARROW = C&C flatbed / dump truck / utility box / on and on .

also 99 and 2000 make sure there from old body like 88-98 and not the 99-up new body stuff .

if your gears are good there stupid easy to swap on 14ff . there about the best axle to learn how to setup gears on .

post up some pics of your axle now . . . i live and work in the rust belt . i tell you if you should fix it .

the tubes on these 14ff are 3/8" thick if not 1/2" . . i know the few i cut up for scrap were thick . . .

The leaf spring supports are rotted, get new ones and glue them on, not a big job, Summit racing has them, I've done it.
